Ingress: It’s time to Move – Google’s Global Alternate Reality Game

Ingress is a new global alternate reality game by Google. And even though I’m not a mobile gamer, this one caught my attention. So what’s that special about this app?

The game is still in a closed beta and you have to request an invite to play Ingress, but it looks very interesting. Want to know more? Sure you do…

Google’s brand new alternate reality game Ingress places you and your smart-phone in the middle of a global battle. Thus, wherever you live or travel, you can join a mind control battle that you’ll fight out in real life. Sounds interesting?

Ingress – It’s time to Move

First of all, you’ll have to request an Ingress invite before you can jump into the action. I already requested mine, but have to be patient as it will probably take a few days to get into the game.

And what it is the Ingress game about? This world around is not what it seems. Ingress transforms the real world into the landscape for a global game of mystery, intrigue, and competition. A mysterious energy has been unearthed by a team of scientists in Europe. The origin and purpose of this force is unknown, but some researchers believe it is influencing the way we think. We must control it or it will control us.

“The Enlightened” seek to embrace the power that this energy may bestow upon us.

“The Resistance” struggle to defend, and protect what’s left of our humanity.

It’s happening all around you. They aren’t coming. They’re already here.
